Lake of the Woods Veterans Bass Tournament

BLM FISHERIES WASHINGTON OFFICE
LAKE OF THE WOODS VETERANS BASS TOURNAMENT

The Washington Office BLM Fisheries program staff once again collaborated with our friends at FishingCommunity.Org to conduct activities under the nation-wide FCO-BLM Fisheries for Veterans Project, this time to help run the Third Annual Lake of the Woods Wounded Heroes Fishing Tournament near Fredericksburg, Virginia on September 13th.

The LOW tournament is a local community showcase, where the local community opens up thier private lake to show appreciation to those who have served their country.

The LOW tournament hosts free of charge any wounded, injured or ill vets from all conflicts and their families an opportunity to fish with fish pros in a managed "boutique" lake tournament, where lake residents help organize, local businesses donate and participate.

The LOW Tournament is a great example of the FCO-BLM project, bringing everyone together and showing how veterans, residents, businesses, non-profit groups, and BLM, can work together to serve the community and promote aquatic resource awareness, use and stewardship...all while catching lunker bass!

BLM Fisheries is very proud to serve and contribute to this partnership.
